A Verification Code Has Been Sent to Missing Device Enter the Code to Continue
Hi Chris,
Thank you for querying in this forum.
I have tested with my OneDrive for Business, as steps shown below:
I went to OneDrive Online > selected a folder > clicked Share > selected Specific people, as shown below:
Then I typed the email address of account > clicked Send, then I signed in the Outlook with that account, I found the email, as shown below:
Then I clicked Open > Next, no verification code is sent to my Outlook to access the folder.
May I know if the steps above are consistent with yours? If so, as we can reproduce the same situation as yours. Given this situation, we want to collect the information below with you to do further investigation:
- I want to collect the account information with you via private message. Please click on the link below to access your private message: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/privatemessage/inbox.
- If the steps above are not consistent with yours, please provide the detailed steps about how sharing a folder in OneDrive for Business.
- Do the other colleagues have the same problem?

Hi Chris,
I have tested it again today and the problem has disappeared on our side.
So we'd suggest you change another browser or try using InPrivate browser and check if the problem will occur. This will avoid browser remember your activity.

Hi all,
Hoping for some help in the verification code email. I have been shared a folder in the proper order in which it is supposed to be sent and no verification code has been sent to my email to access the folder.
Any advice appreciated

Posting as this may help others. When sharing to "Specific People" outside my organization, the recipient of my Share, found that the Verification Code email went to their Spam folder. I would not have known that if they had not checked their Junk/Spam folder.
